ive put this part of my page up because i wanted to compile all my little digital sketches and whatnot into one place. despite owning a drawing tablet (er, a ThinkPad X230T - a touchscreen laptop with Wacom digitizer), i've never really liked drawing on anything other than a mouse - possibly because the mindset i was trying to put myself in with the drawing tablet sucked.
i mainly use
Microsoft MSPaint and a logitech G400s mouse,
but i can use just about any mouse or pointing solution on any system as long as i have enough time to learn the basics.
this is a drawing i made on the 22nd anniversary of touhou 6: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil - which came out August 11, 2002 at Comiket. it features reimu harassing (or being harassed by) rumia. standard stuff! EoSD has a special place in my heart as my introduction to the Touhou series, and the fact TH has such a lively fanbase to this day is so inspiring.
this is a sketch i made of a fictional but almost realistic 4 legged mecha walker, something that could be used against infantry, helicopters, or light armored vehicles, but laughably fragile from tanks, RPGs, SPAAs, heavy machine guns... it's close in size to a BTR-80 but because i was thinking of it all in my head, i didn't really keep proper proportions unfortunately. in this scene, it's providing cover fire for a KAMAZ Mustang truck in a UN convoy.
here's the ejection seat and some details, like the morale patch or whatnot. my main inspiration was a mix of the Zvezda K-36 and the ACES II. no official name for it yet.
this was how i initially drafted it: a cockpit shape - twin seater of course, and a weapons system. then i started thinking about it, and realized it needed a massive stupid blindspot designed into it. the weapons system mounts NEXT TO the cockpit, blocking it from traversing a full 360 degrees. perfect, right?
initially i was looking for a realistic way to have a balljoint be used in a mecha, because balljoints are awesome (my experience with lego mecha design paving the way here). i found a design on the internet called the ABENICS joint - look it up, it is absolutely incredible and insane - and decided that balljoints are in fact feasible for a realistic large mecha. add some applique armor on and you've got the perfect design.
this vehicle is named the FM-XX "Anfibios" (prototype name, production models are the FM-00). i called it the anfibios because the legs reminded me of a frog or lizard of some kind. it was built by the fictional company "Federal Machine Manufacturing Company" (really creative name, right??) as a technology demonstrator to compete in a contract for legged tactical vehicles that could serve several roles. The FM-XX "Anfibios" was the winner for the "medium" tier (there was also obviously a "heavy" and "high mobility(light)" competition, won by a different company than FMMC, of course meaning that there are zero standardized parts between any of these mechas).
here's my final sketch of the walker, being the shot of the interior. for maximum stinkyness, somehow it's driven off a SPARCstation. obviously there would/could be cheaper options, including FMMC's own in-house development of computer systems, but imagine how hilarious it would be if the NVRAM chip died in the walker and the whole thing became bricked. my UI design is glunky but thats okay.
here's something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. it almost even tiles too. i was inspired by pc-98 city skyline drawings and i think when i get my pc-98 i'll make a few of these. dithering is so much fun.
here's a drawing of an Su-57 NEET girl (the Su-57 is my favorite jet, sorry F-15 and MiG-29). she can carry a lot of stuff thanks to her big hoodie pockets. she can help around the house because she knows a lot about woodworking and furniture screws FOR SOME REASON. and if she really likes you, she might even show off her "engine fan blades" to you(r radar subsystems). plus, at the core of it all, she's just an Su-27 (this can be a positive or a negative).
unfortunately she's way too neurotic, takes way too long to do the most basic tasks, is way too scared of being injured (which is why she never leaves her house), might be a little(very) racist against "those kho-...haircut people, okay, sorry, fine", and is ultimately not the best at anything (despite her claims otherwise). so basically... literally me.
where were you on 8/23/2023? here's my drawings featuring yevgeny prigozhin, the funniest used hotdog salesman in the world - gone too soon. (and yes, kind viewer, that IS a reference to End of Evangelion!)
that's pretty much all of it. i'll probably sporadically add to this page when more drawings get finished, because i have a lot of fun drawing stuff and admiring it.
